Schoenolirion croceum

Sunnybell (Schoenolirion croceum) is a native bulbous herbaceous perennial in the Liliaceae. It is an obscure western Louisiana only plan. The plants are scapose, with linear, simple leaves that have parallel veins. The inflorescences are racemes. The flowers are perfect and regular, with six tepals and six stamens. The ovary is superior, and the fruit is a capsule with lustrous black seeds. In bogs and savannahs in western Louisiana, with reports from Beauregard, Calcasieu, Natchitoches, Sabine, and Vernon Parishes. A large population near Allen Acres. In Newton, Jasper, Tyler, Hardin, Walker, Nacogdoches, Angelina, Henderson, Robertson, Brazos and Burleson counties in Texas. It skips Mississippi and reappears in Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida and both Carolinas.
